ACT Camp - Math

 

Course Description: This course is designed to prepare students for the Math portion of the ACT, employing the Cambridge Educational Services approach.  Course will review basic math skills required for success on the ACT, including Algebra, number properties, geometry and some trigonometry.  Students will take both a pre-test and a post-test to chart their progress.
 

Math section meets in NH 028 (basement), 9:10-10:10 a.m. MTWR

Textbook: ACT Victory, 8th ed., by Cambridge Educational Services

Pre-test  -- Friday, June 12th
Course Starts -- Monday, June 15th
Last Lecture -- Wednesday, July 1st

 Your goal should be to complete each of these timed tests in less than 5 minutes with 100% accuracy.  As you are allowed to use calculators on the test, you may use them to complete these tests, but usually calculators are slower than being able to do them by hand, so practice doing them by hand several times before seeing if you can improve your time with a calculator.  Know when to use the calculator and when to do it in your head.
