Course Description (from the College):
Encounter mathematical reasoning through an exposure to inductive methods,
problem-solving techniques and the organization of information to discover
patterns. Explore geometric topics and the connections between mathematics
and the arts, and the social sciences. Study topics such as management
science, sequences, fractals, mathematics of finance, probability and
statistics.
Prerequisite: Achieve an appropriate score on the mathematics part of the
ACT or SAT, or score at an appropriate level on the Mathematics Placement
Test, or completion of MAT 012 or MAT 012E or MAT 013B with a grade of at
least C, or successful completion of an approved mathematics preparation
course.
