Summary and Reflections:
Spring A:  DeVry Weighted Average: 3.55
This course was a Math 114 course.  This was the first term where they had split up the three classes (previously the course had been with mixed levels of students).  The lack of threaded discussions makes a lot of the communication in this class really very one-way unless one of the students reach out to me for assistance.  But the course went smoothly otherwise.  Sending out weekly progress reports often, though not invariably, encouraged students to contact me with their progress.  Perhaps in the future I could encourage more students to reply to the progress reports?

Spring B:  DeVry Weighted Average for Math 032: 3.49; For Math 102: 3.73
Spring B was busy, teaching two courses for DeVry for the first time.  Keeping straight which students were in which class, for instance!  Most of the term went fairly smoothly, until we had to face to new final exam deadline, that had been moved forward three days.  Great for me; aggravating for the students who wait until the last minute. But these should smooth out next term.

Student Comments:
Spring A:
My instructor strengths were she was always available when I needed her. One of the things that makes online coarses [sic] difficult is, when you have a question and there is no one to help you, or you have to wait until they are available. Well my instructor was the best, she was the only instructor that I was able to call during after hour and receive the help I was given. THANK YOU!

Really seems like she cares about progress of each student.

She showed concern every week and always gave positive comments as well as constructive criticism.

She was very enthusiastic and prompt with her responses. She also was very concerned when she saw that you were falling behind.

Spring B:
I have learned so much so fast. thanks for being an excellent teacher you have made a difference for me to learn this math.

She was awsome [sic] when I needed help and I did not understand what the People in the lecture was saying. She was a lot of help

Instructor was always available for help and returned e-mails immediately.

She always made her sel [sic] available when I needed help on my work. She always encouraged her students to have faith in their selves when trying to complete their assignments. Overall she was a great teacher.

Great sense of humor, and very approachable.
