Tutoring Experience

I began tutoring for money in 1988 when I was a freshman in college, tutoring a woman in algebra for several hours a day, every weekend.  Like many of my students, she struggled with math, and I believe that this experience was extremely valuable in establishing my patience with struggling students, as well as some of the methods of explaining certain concepts.

When I began graduate school, for my graduate assistantship we tutored students in the business math program, mostly, although also some stats classes and math for education majors.  While in the program at Cleveland State University, while working on my masters degree, I also took on several private students, tutoring such subjects as Calculus, and students preparing for standardized tests like the GMAT.  One student was so pleased with my performance tutoring her in calculus, that she hired me to tutor her high school daughter in algebra (and for 50% more money) as well as eventually her son.  She serves as a reference: Sara Syed.  (It may take a couple days for a response.)

More recently, my private tutoring has spanned a similar breadth of courses, from algebra, to calculus, to differential equations, to GMAT preparation.

Students interested in engaging me as a private tutor should contact me by email.  I charge $75 for the first 2-hour session each week.  Additional hours are charged at a reduced rate.  Group rates are available.  For subjects I am able to tutor, if it is not listed above, please email me.

For students interested in tutoring outside the Columbus, OH area, maybe someone on the list below will be closer?
