Amateur Astronomy

Amateur astronomy was never something I was able to get much into.  Growing up with in Cleveland, with some of the cloudiest skies in the country, it just wasn't a reliable pursuit.  But with technologies now to set up telescopes in the desert and control them remotely... now, maybe once I get out of school, I could afford to do that.  But now, there are also other things you can do personally to support astronomy on the cheap that weren't available when I was growing up, like categorizing galaxies, or using your computer to search for aliens, or donating directly to support research.
