If you are interested in Astronomy, it's a good idea to join some organization to stay informed and have activities to go to... and cool stuff to purchase!  A selection is below.  I've been members of many of them at some point, but the one I've been a member of longest is The Planetary Society.  Oh, and by the way, the International Astronomical Union is the only organization that official names things... those services that purport to sell star names or land on the moon... they are scams up and down.
