Pre-Statistics, MAT 035

 

Course Description (from the College):

Study algebra topics essential for statistics such as operations on real numbers, simplifying expressions, solving linear equations and inequalities, and graphing linear equations. Explore concepts in probability and statistics including set theory, experiments, counting, measures of central tendency and dispersion, lines of best-fit and graphical representations of data. Use technology for a data analysis project. Prerequisite: Achieve an appropriate score on the Mathematics Placement Test or completion of MAT 010 with a grade of at least C, or successful completion of an approved mathematics preparation course. Note: A grade of at least C in MAT 035 is required to enroll in MAT 135 or MAT 135H.  Lecture: 4 hours
