The beginning of wisdom is found in doubting; by
doubting we come to the question, and by seeking we may come upon the truth.

Estimate Your Grade This page allows students in my classes to calculate their grades to date, and determine what grade they need to achieve for the remainder of the semester to achieve a desired grade. If I am teaching two different classes in one semester, please go through the webpage connected to your class to connect to this page. It will come up with the desired defaults. This page can be used for other classes, however, you'll have to adjust all the %-of-final-grade for each assignment to correspond to your class. Be aware that this is just a grade estimator. This is by no means a guarantee of what your grade will be. Nor does this calculator take into account any curve that the instructor might wish to apply to the course. Enter into the table the percentage scores in the first column of the table for homework assignments, quizzes and exams that you've already taken in their respective rows. For assignments for which you don't have scores yet, change the %-of-final-grade column to 0 for those assignments. If you don't do this, the program will read these assignments as completed but with grade = 0! (Note that if all the grades are in, the second column should total 100, and should never be more. If necessary, add bonuses to another score (you may enter up to 105% for each score). Note: If you enter grades for ALL the items, please understand that the grade you have to get for the rest of the semester is meaningless, even though some number will still be given and it's size will depend largely on any rounding error. |
