Pluto Until 2006, Pluto was the
ninth and smallest planet in the solar system. Then Eris was
discovered, and the whole planet debate blew up... badly. Pluto, on
average, is 40 AU from the sun and at the inner edge of the
Kuiper Belt.
Very similar to Triton, Pluto is cold, and heading toward the aphelion of
its orbit, where even its atmosphere will freeze out.
