The Space Review: Demote Pluto, or demote "planet"? -- the title of this article highlights the main problem I have with this debate: the people who want to demote Pluto are doing so for emotional reasons, because Pluto isn't "special" enough to be a planet.  Planets aren't "special".  This is a planet, not the guy dating your daughter.
