Math 1

 

Course Description (from the College): This course will include, but is not limited to, the following concepts: quadratic, polynomial and radical equations; linear functions and their graphs; systems of linear equations; functions and their properties; triangles and trigonometric functions.  Activities will include solving problems and using appropriate technological tools.

Grading Rubric for Written Assignments:

  • 5 pts. for each correct problem (partial credit possible)
  • 5 pts. for each problem containing appropriate explanations of steps, a conclusion, and problem description (or the problem itself)
  • 10 pts overall for legibility, neatness (typed), grammar, etc.

*Sept. 19th is Constitution Day.  We will break for 1/2 hour during class so that you may attend the function in the atrium if you wish.
*students can get additional help and practice problems for this class from http://www.interactmath.com.   When it asks for the textbook, scroll down to ITT GE127.  Chapter P is listed as Chapter 0 in the menu.
*Students can also get help from online websites such as http://www.purplemath.com, http://www.aaamath.com, and others.  Run a search on Google for algebra help and you'll find quite a few.
