State Community College Mathematics for the
Liberal Arts, Math 116
Course Description (from the University): A survey of modern
mathematical topics relevant to everyday life, intended for students who
are not majoring in the physical sciences. This course applies critical
thinking and problem solving skills to topics such as elementary graph
theory, the mathematics of voting and apportionment, and probability.
Not open to students
with credit for Math 130, Math 148, or above.

In order to ensure that we will have a quiz over all/most of the material
prior to taking the first exam, a quiz is being added to the schedule Oct
10. That quiz will cover Chapter 5. The regularly scheduled
quiz on Oct 15th will be on Chapter 15. The adjustment is necessary
to compensate for not having class on Oct 8 (Mon). Because this will
bring our quiz total to 10 (rather than the previously scheduled 9), we
will drop the lowest TWO (2) scores.
